Just keep writing and the journey gains momentum!


What have learned since my first book and all of it's updates?

It can be an expensive ride!! Paying for ads, services to format your book, illustrate, proof read and find the correct SEO's or Keywords to list your book under!

Yikes!! I decided to think of it as an 'investment' rather than focusing on the budget. I have not sold 100's of copies of my first book...yet. I believe my books will reach the souls it is meant to be read by.

Meanwhile, I teamed up with my BFF, Missy Richardson (best friend) to co-author a second book with! What a fun journey this has been. It all started when Missy told me about a daydream she had while watching jellyfish in the ocean float by a plastic bag that was slowly sinking into the ocean. She imagined that the jellyfish and the bag fell in love! 

That's all I needed! We started bouncing ideas back and forth and our book came to life. Actually, once we found our amazing illustrator, Myloh ( our jellyfish) truly came to life!!

We went on to translate Myloh into 6 languages!
It was fun to work with the translators, many of them friends who I have met during my travels in Europe.

Keep writing....there are so many books waiting to be written and someone waiting to read a grand adventure!

Elizabeth's thoughts...life... Of all the self improvement books I have read and 'how to' do this or that; it seems that often they have a common theme. Keep a journal, write down your thoughts and don't over think it.  Recently, I took a "Master Class" taught by a renowned author Joyce Carol Oates based on her book; "The Faith of a Writer: Life, Craft, Art" .   One thing that stuck with me was her message that to be a successful author, you have to write about the difficult things.  It's SOUP Season!!! And there are a lot of different types of soups out there!! Well, being an author and and educator, I seem to use a lot of idioms and metaphors. So, I was thinking of 'soup idioms' and how a few of them spoke to me beginning in November! First I was struck by "to soup something up" while listening to a YouTube guru suggesting I need more exercise!  "Gotta soup up my exercise." ....hhmmm....truer words have never been spoken! I was so motivated that I took the cellophane wrapper off my Jane Fonda VHS aerobic video! Jane and I go way back and she has been packed and moved more times than I care to admit. I guess I should let her go....can't find my VHS player...or the 8 track to play my Foreigner 4 and Toto tracks on...dang where does the time go?!! Did I just hint at my age?
