Two very different genres and both are BRILLIANT!
Let me start with;
"Remembering Kaylee Cooper" by Christopher Francis
I LOVE a good ghost story! The fall weather is a perfect time to curl up with a mysterious book and engaged imagination! I was kept 'guessing' about Kaylee and her attachment to Alex. I won't be a 'spoiler' here! However, the author was so clever in weaving the characters and two dimensional worlds together. One thing is for sure any youth or adult who reads this book, will "Never forget...Kaylee Cooper!" I know, I won't! A brilliant read!
Another favorite topic of mine is 'super powers!' I am a kid at heart and I still daydream about having a superpower and what I would do with it!
The Super Twins by Andy Slinger
I shared this story with my elementary ESL Students here in S. Korea. WOW! They truly loved the connection that the twin brothers share and that they hate vegetables too! The book was fun and heartwarming. My students and I enjoyed an animated conversation about this book! Entertaining and full of real life feelings to explore! Bravo!
