Tae Sung's Peculiar Life--- Grandfather teaches Tae Sung 'how' to connect with nature through innate abilities. Chapter 8

"The Apprentice"

"Saturdays became a new adventure every week with Grandpa. He called Saturdays my “Apprentice” training day! Our first Saturday Grandpa took me on a hike in the Geoje mountain range........Grandpa introduced me to new ways of thinking about things. For example, energy! Energy is everywhere and we can direct it in the simplest form; our thoughts! "

Hello Friends!!

Thank you for connecting once a month with me! I feel that all living things are connected and it is important to honor and be grateful for all creatures BIG and tiny!! Although, I still do not know why we need mosquitos....hhummm.....I am sure there is a reason!!

I am establishing 'tiny habits' and 'stacking' one positive behavior on to another one...(habit association...works for the bad habits...why not the good ones??!! " Atomic Habits-by James Clear) and in doing so, I am allotting time to write more ...Tae Sung and I are currently on an adventure in the second book;

"Tae Sung 180 Degrees" ....and boy, what an emotional roller coaster it is proving to be!!

Enjoy the featured books and promotions this month!! Thanks again for reading, connecting and imagining all kinds of cool adventures!!

Peace and love,

Elizabeth~

How to become authors- Writing About the Difficult Things

Elizabeth's thoughts...life... Of all the self improvement books I have read and 'how to' do this or that; it seems that often they have a common theme. Keep a journal, write down your thoughts and don't over think it.  Recently, I took a "Master Class" taught by a renowned author Joyce Carol Oates based on her book; "The Faith of a Writer: Life, Craft, Art" .   One thing that stuck with me was her message that to be a successful author, you have to write about the difficult things. Confronting the taboo topics no one wants to talk about. She suggested that people read to align with life issues that they have no outlet for. I have pondered this notion a bit and what I have come to realize that it is truly much easier to write about the beautiful sunsets and happy events. It takes courage and transparency to write about your own private 'life events.' I am addressing the times in one's life when you thought you would surely die...

 It's SOUP Season!!! And there are a lot of different types of soups out there!! Well, being an author and and educator, I seem to use a lot of idioms and metaphors. So, I was thinking of 'soup idioms' and how a few of them spoke to me beginning in November! First I was struck by "to soup something up" while listening to a YouTube guru suggesting I need more exercise!  "Gotta soup up my exercise." ....hhmmm....truer words have never been spoken! I was so motivated that I took the cellophane wrapper off my Jane Fonda VHS aerobic video! Jane and I go way back and she has been packed and moved more times than I care to admit. I guess I should let her go....can't find my VHS player...or the 8 track to play my Foreigner 4 and Toto tracks on...dang where does the time go?!! Did I just hint at my age? Huumppff...think I will have some "Giggle soup!" ( also know as an "old fashioned" alcohol drink) SHOUT OUT LOUD!! I FEEL LIKE WHACKING A ...
